Hi, my name is Festus.
As noted by Albert Einstein; Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.
Knowing that a young mind has learnt something new at the end of each lesson always brings me some sense of fulfillment.
I am a nature enthusiast. I love exploring remote places and tackling new challenges.
During my days in primary school, I was among the top performing students in our class and ALWAYS the best in math. I was never the second-best in math.
I used to edge all the math contests, and the teachers believed in me such that they could refer students from other classes to me for math assistance.
The same trend continued even in high school, and that's how my passion for teaching math was born.
I proceeded to study a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and now I am a full-time math tutor.
I have 6 years of teaching in both private and public high schools, and more than 5 years of online teaching.
I am a valuer of simplicity and believe in quality rather than quantity.
I don't bombard my students with hundreds of example tasks. We go through a few examples at the student's pace and ensure they have mastered each concept.
I do not speak math; I apply the I DO, WE DO, YOU DO approach.
First, I introduce the concepts. This involves the definitions, formulas, and illustrations using diagrams, charts, and models.
Then, solve each task in a step-by-step manner with the student.
Finally, I encourage the student to solve one or two questions alone before the lesson ends and guide them only when needed.
At the end of each lesson, I provide the student with lesson notes and some practice questions( if their schedule allows), and make a follow-up to ensure they have no difficulty solving similar tasks.
