First I introduce the topic to the student. After introducing I ask him/her what he/she knows about the topic so as to know the strengths and weaknesses of the student in that particular topic. Knowing this about the student will guide me on how to approach the student. According to the students strengths or weaknesses we go through the topic together with the student. This helps the student to understand the concepts well. We then do some questions on the topic. Finally I give the student questions to do in order to know if he or she can tackle any task from the topic of interest. If the student still has difficulty with the topic then he/she will highlight where he faces problems on the topic.
