My career, which has taken me from empowering marginalized students to documenting the lived experiences of a pandemic, is unified by a single core principle: to listen, to understand, and to build solutions that genuinely improve people's lives. In the classroom, I've had the privilege of witnessing how students exercise agency in their learning of mathematical concepts, reshaping the very nature of what is taught. I don't just teach equations; I help students find the logic and beauty in everyday materials, turning abstract ideas into tangible, empowering tools. As a researcher, my goal has always been to go beyond the numbers, transforming raw data into stories that highlight real human experiences and inform compassionate, effective solutions.
