Teaching style involves multiple personas because I adapt myself to the specific needs of each learner, characterized by dynamic adaptability. I am a strong believer of practical oriented teaching. For my students, I have no ego, no judgment, and unlimited patience. I explain concepts in various ways to ensure thorough understanding. Students of bioinformatics often fall into two categories: those who fear coding and coders who don’t understand biology. My teaching adapts to dismantle these barriers. I prefer using bullet points and step by step logical explanations rather than walls of text, unless otherwise necessary. I focus on helping students develop a workflow that enables them to understand biology clearly, without being hindered by computational complexities. My methodology focuses on a pipeline mindset and data literacy, as bioinformatics is workflow-oriented and requires learning both facts and processes. I will ensure my students first understand the data they are working with before they start utilizing a tool. For a student to easily understand the concept, I will break complex analyses into modular blocks, allowing students to master each step by step. I will encourage students to think critically, identify, and resolve broken code and common error messages in the tools they use. I view teaching as an interactive process rather than a lengthy lecture. My approach will be results-oriented, focusing on immediate clarification, skill acquisition, increased efficiency, and core confidence building. My sessions aim to help students become proficient in reproducible workflows, interpretation over execution, tool mastery, and clean data management. I believe that patience in teaching, availability, a personalized approach, and cross disciplinary knowledge make me a great teacher. I have thoroughly read and memorize the manuals of the bioinformatics tools that I use and teach. I can quickly generate dummy input data files to test these tools, and I can assist students in translating scripts from one format to another. Bioinformatics requires switching between tools based on need and accuracy, ranging from free to commercial software. I am proficient in all of them. I am confident that I have unlimited patience when debugging errors and handling tools.
