I am a British teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), awarded by the Department for Education and the National Teacher Accreditation in the UK. I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in English Literature. I also hold a 120-hour TEFL Certificate and a number of commendations from professional training I have received during my career as an educator. Since September 2025, I been teaching English Language Arts in a leading International School in Colombia. Between 2024 and 2025, I was teaching English as a Foreign Language in Thailand, and previous to that, I was teaching English Language and Literature in England for 5 years. The students I teach range from 11 to 18 years old. Before qualifiying as a teacher, I was a Learning Support Teaching Assistant in England for 10 years.

The keys to helping students develop their English language skills are a combination of a language-rich environment, relevancy, and support for taking risks & making mistakes. As an accomplished educator, specialising in tutoring students for national examinations, EAL and students with Special Educational needs, I bring a wealth of knowledge when planning lessons and assessments and adapting areas of the curriculum in creative and innovative ways to ensure that each student can access the learning and build confidence. I have a proven record of realizing success for my tutees, achieved with practice, perserverance and self-belief. With student learning at the heart of all I do, I am continually energized, motivated and rewarded by the progress my students make.

Having attained my life-long dream of becoming a teacher, whilst raising my own children, my passionate intention is to make a difference in the lives of young people. Being a mature student enriched my life and re-kindled a love of learning, which I continue to strive hard to install in my students. I attest that positive relationships with students are at the heart of being an effective teacher and tutor.     As a classroom teacher of 10th to 12 grade Colombian students, I am responsible for their progress and attainment. This includes planning and delivering all lessons, curriculum planning, assessment planning and grading, behaviour management and communication with families. It also includes inputting all data on performance and assessment into the school's software school management system and attending regular staff training and CPD. Also, I attend parent and carer meetings and carry out proctoring duties in examinations.

    Teaching English to Thai students, 7th to 12th Grade in English Program. Co-advisory and homeroom teacher to 11th Grade students.     80000 COP per hour for online lessons.
    Up to 120000 COP per hour if ongoing support with homework and assignments is required between lessons.
