I am a passionate and experienced EAL specialist who loves helping learners grow in confidence, fluency, and academic success. My lessons are lively, interactive, and purposeful, combining fun activities with clear learning goals so students stay motivated and make real progress. All lessons are fully bespoke and carefully tailored to each learner’s needs and school curriculum.

I work extensively with Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language and IELTS, supporting students from beginner level through to advanced academic English. I am known for building excellent rapport and a safe, encouraging learning environment, and I keep parents fully informed with regular progress updates.     I am currently Head of EAL at Ampleforth College, where I lead and manage a team of EAL teachers and oversee whole-school EAL provision. I work closely with all curriculum areas to support multilingual learners, providing targeted resources, guidance, and training to non-EAL staff to ensure students thrive academically across the curriculum.
  • Director of Online language School (Dec, 2018–Present) at Yorschool York
    I am the Founder and Director of Yorschool, my own online language school, where I design and deliver bespoke English programmes for EAL learners from Europe, Ukraine, India, Hong Kong, and China. I teach learners from beginner level through to IELTS and support adults who require English for visa, academic, or professional purposes.

    As Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Ryedale School, I led the German, French, and English curriculum while managing and developing a team of language teachers.
