Hello! My name is Lucy. I am a recent graduate of McGill University, starting a master's degree in biology next fall. I worked as a substitute teacher during my time between degrees before I moved back to Canada. I really enjoy working with kids and teaching! My goal with tutoring is to foster an environment conducive to learning. To me, that means building rapport and allowing your child to feel safe being themselves while also staying focused. When I teach, I try to understand the root of the student's misunderstanding and use creative solutions, reframing, and repetition to help them mechanically, rather than a memorization approach. This has been very successful with the students I have helped. I went through the AP system in high school and scored 5's on both the biology and calculus AB exams
