Hello, I’m Charlie, a professional British guitarist and tutor based in London, offering private online guitar lessons to students around the world, including the UAE. I’ve taught over 300 students across all ages and levels - from complete beginners to pro musicians - and specialise in tailored, confidence-building 1:1 sessions that help you become the guitarist you want to be.

I was raised in London and classically educated through the British grammar school system. My guitar training began at age 7 under the guidance of a renowned international session musician, who not only taught me to play, but instilled a deep musical foundation built on theory, jazz, rhythm, ear training, improvisation and creativity. That early training shaped my career and I now teach in the same way: theory-informed, emotionally intelligent, and always tailored to the individual.

With over 20 years of experience, I’ve worked as both a professional performer and guitar educator. I’ve played to crowds of 40,000+, been signed to top musician agencies, and supported artists across a range of styles - from rock, jazz, blues and folk to metal, funk, acoustic, and modern pop. But teaching is where my real passion lies, especially helping others find joy and expression through music.

🧠 What makes my lessons different?
• I don’t follow a generic syllabus. Every student is different, and so is every lesson. I do however teach theory so that all of my students can read and play sheet music.
• You’ll learn in a way that suits your pace, style, and interests - whether you want to pass grades, play by ear, improvise, write your own songs, or just jam for fun.
• I’m musically literate (theory-taught, non-tab-based), but if you’re not, that’s absolutely fine. I break it down simply and supportively.
• I offer optional WhatsApp support between lessons, plus advice on gear, technique and practice strategy.
• I teach via Zoom / other platforms to students globally, including in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and can also provide bespoke in-person teaching quotes for visiting clients in the UAE upon request.

Professionally trained British guitarist with over 20 years’
full-time experience delivering bespoke one-to-one tuition and
elegant live performance for discerning clients in the UK and
abroad.
Born in Cassiobury, Hertfordshire, I began performing at age
11 under the guidance of a renowned UK session guitarist
(toured with Ringo Starr & Tom Jones) and gave my first
private lessons at 16 after being approached to tutor following
a live performance. Since then, I’ve taught 350+ pupils, built
one of Hertfordshire’s most successful private guitar practices,
and worked discreetly inside UHNW households across the
UK, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Known for my calm, intuitive and discreet teaching style, I
integrate seamlessly with private estates, household staff, and
PAs. I teach children (4+), teens, adults and seniors, including
pupils with SEN, and adapt equally well to building
confidence in beginners or refining technique for advanced
players.
Current and past work spans in-residence tuition for UHNW
estates, remote international lessons, and live performances.

Rates for private online Zoom lessons range from £60 to £95/hour depending on lesson type (beginner, intermediate, advanced), scheduling (daytime or evening), and whether sessions are one-off or part of an ongoing block.
