Dr. Himashree Patowary is an academician and researcher with expertise in Political Science and Social Studies, specializing in themes related to governance, rights, social welfare, and development in Northeast India. With teaching experience spanning from secondary to postgraduate levels, she has guided students of Social Studies (IX–X), Political Science (XI–XII), and M.A. Political Science through both offline and online modes.
Her research interests include comparative political economy, governance, ethnic movements, women empowerment, education policy, health security, and environmental governance, particularly focusing on Assam and Meghalaya. She has also contributed to multiple studies and seminars addressing issues of livelihood, conflict resolution, climate change, and grassroots governance.
In addition to her academic engagements, Dr. Patowary is actively involved in welfare initiatives through her association with NGOs and social organizations, working towards rights, education, poverty alleviation, and community empowerment.
