Hello, my name is Manuel and I am an English teacher living in Milan, Italy. I was born in Canberra, Australia, and my teaching experience includes teaching English for six years and Spanish for four at the Australian National University. I have a bachelor's degree in linguistics and philosophy and have developed a personally-catered, student-centered pedagogy.

I teach students of all skill levels and developmental levels, from beginner to intermediate, advanced, up to native speakers. My lessons are structured in an interactive, engaging, reflective, and creative environment centered around on Q&As;
and my main area of expertise is in speaking, grammar, and academic writing.

Thanks to my adaptive, individuated attention and delivery, I have effectively escalated my students' semantic memory, focus, and linguistic inference skills. For nearly two years, in 1 and 2 hour lessons, I have employed a combination of vivid, dynamic communication skills and ambitious, challenging learning outcomes, succeeding in convincingly developing my students' knowledge of English to competent, academic levels.

Experience

  • Jazz Piano Transcriber (May, 2025–Jul, 2025) at My Sheet Music Transcriptions, Madrid
    My role in the company was to listen and transcribe audio recordings of jazz piano performances and vocal improvisations into clear, publish‑ready notation.

    I implemented aural abilities in pitch, rhythm, harmony, dynamics, articulation, key changes, and stylistic nuance to faithfully reflect both composed and improvised elements in each piece.

    Moreover, I conducted meticulous transcription entirely by ear, without reliance on automation, to distinguish hand independence in piano parts and vocal lines in often polyphonic and densely textured jazz recordings

    Furthermore, I used Musecore to deliver polished and readable sheet music, and completed revisions promptly based on client feedback, ensuring both musical fidelity and customer satisfaction.

    To exceed in this role, I needed exceptional aural and analytical skills, capable of parsing recordings with dense harmonic textures or improvisatory solos; strong theoretical foundation in harmony, rhythm, and vocal and piano idioms, particularly jazz styles; and rigorous attention to detail, self‑discipline and perseverance: transcriptions frequently involved many playback iterations to capture subtle rhythmic or melodic inflections.

    My strengths in effective time-management, meeting tight deadlines reliably, and maintaining excellent organizational practices across multiple projects also allowed me to succeed in this job.
  • Music Producer, Music Curator and Client Manager (Oct, 2024–Sep, 2025) at Musical Solutions, Madrid
    As a Music Producer, I led the creation, arrangement, and final production of custom music tracks for a variety of clients, including brands, media outlets, and commercial projects. Ensured all compositions aligned with the client’s vision and branding goals while maintaining high technical and artistic quality.

    Whereas as Client Portfolio Manager, the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Built and nurtured strong client relationships by understanding their needs and translating them into actionable creative strategies.

    Finally, as Music Curator, I developed tailored music selections and playlists for commercial environments, marketing campaigns, and branded experiences, primarily tailored through Spotify. Worked closely with brands to ensure music choices enhanced customer engagement and supported the desired atmosphere or emotional response.
  • Founding Partner and Associate (May, 2024–Present) at Rodero Energias Renovables
    Rodero Energías Renovables deals with the production and sale of solar energy to larger enterprises such as Iberdrola, for distribution.

    My role as a founding partner is to oversee and strategize, any current and future projects. For instance, at the moment, we are working on expanding the reach of Rodero Energías Renovables, by stationing a plantation of walnut trees in a village outside of Salamanca, Spain. I have been personally involved in the on-site physical maintenance and installation of this walnut tree plantation; proving my versatility through both conceptual and practical work.

Fee details

    €15–20/hour (US$17.44–23.26/hour)

    Depending on transport, the fees can vary. If a student lives outside of Milan, the maximum fee applies, if within walking distance, the minimum.
