I guide my trainees using interactive active training methods by engaging him or her to establish his or her level of prior knowledge on the target topic or item being taught. After getting to know the level of his or her understanding, I practically guide him or her on the objectives of the session, and engage him or her in actively answering questions, and solving related challenges. I use case studies, illustrations and examples in case to case challenges. I engage the trainee on the applications of the knowledge being passed. For subjects in engineering, and chemistry, I do both theory and practical using active learning methods. For a game like chess, I let the learners solve case to case puzzles, compete, understand specified tactics and when to employ them, recognize patterns and try to modify them based on the set rules without losing the game. For all subjects I value feedback at every stage and use evaluation methods that focus on ensuring mastery before proceeding to the next level. Quite often I break down the syllabus into modules and passing each module is crucial both in formative and summative assessment. The results have been fantastic with 100% pass rates recorded. That definitely makes me a great teacher.
