I am an experienced mathematics and business tutor with over 15 years of teaching and mentoring students preparing for major examinations like CSEC, CAPE and First Year University Exams. My goal is to help students not only pass their exams but truly understand mathematics and develop confidence in solving problems independently.
I specialize in supporting students preparing for CSEC Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, and CAPE Pure Mathematics, and I work closely with each student to strengthen their understanding of key concepts, improve problem-solving techniques, and develop strong exam strategies.
Many students struggle with mathematics because they are taught to memorize formulas without fully understanding how and why they work. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, clear steps so that students can grasp the logic behind the math.
Over the years, I have worked with students of varying abilities, from those who need help building a strong foundation to high-performing students aiming for distinctions. I take the time to identify each student’s weak areas and tailor lessons to address those specific challenges. My sessions are structured, engaging, and focused on measurable improvement.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have an academic background in Economics and Banking & Finance, and I work professionally in financial risk analysis. This analytical background strengthens my ability to explain mathematical concepts in a practical and logical way. I often show students how mathematics connects to real-world applications, which helps them see the subject as useful rather than intimidating.
Lessons typically include concept review, guided practice, exam-style questions, and techniques for approaching challenging problems with confidence. I also emphasize time management and exam strategy, which are critical for success in CSEC and CAPE mathematics exams.
If you are looking for a patient, structured, and highly experienced tutor who is committed to helping you improve and succeed in mathematics, I would be happy to support you on your learning journey
