Effective mathematics teaching focuses on conceptual understanding instead of memorization. I use 5E five steps: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate, where students first connect with the topic, explore ideas, understand the concept, apply it, and finally get assessed. This method makes mathematics easier and more meaningful for students.
As a mathematics teacher, I use Bloom’s Taxonomy to develop students’ understanding step by step. I first help students remember formulas and definitions, then ensure they understand the concepts through examples. After that, I encourage them to apply the concepts in solving problems, analyze different solutions, evaluate their answers, and gradually create their own methods or questions. This approach helps students develop strong logical thinking and deeper understanding of mathematics.
