With experience teaching Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Science, I work with students from various academic levels, including IGCSE, A-Level, Foundation, and Diploma programmes. I believe in making learning simple, interactive, and effective by combining clear explanations, practical examples, personalised guidance, and exam-oriented strategies. My goal is to help students develop strong foundations, logical thinking, and long-term academic confidence. My teaching approach focuses on making learning simple, engaging, and student-centred. I simplify complex concepts using clear explanations, visual learning methods, real-life examples, and step-by-step problem solving. I adapt my teaching style according to each student’s learning pace and academic needs while emphasising strong conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and exam preparation.
Teaching Approach (with Chemistry Example) Topic: Acids and Bases (pH Scale & Neutralisation) 1. Start with Real-Life Connection (Hook)
I begin the lesson by linking to everyday life:
Lemon juice (acidic) Soap (alkaline) Antacid tablets (neutralisation)
👉 I ask students: “Why does lemon taste sour but soap feels slippery?”
This builds curiosity before theory.
2. Simple Concept Explanation
I explain using very simple language:
Acid = produces H⁺ ions Base = produces OH⁻ ions Neutralisation = acid + base → salt + water
I avoid memorisation first and focus on meaning.
3. Visual Learning (Very Important)
I use:
pH scale diagram (0–14) Colour chart (red → yellow → green → blue) Particle diagrams (H⁺ and OH⁻)
👉 Students see the concept, not just read it.
4. Step-by-Step Problem Solving
I teach exam questions like:
Example: “Calculate pH or identify acid/base strength”
Method:
Identify keywords Use formula or concept Substitute values (if needed) Write final answer clearly
I train students to think like examiners.
5. Active Learning Method
Students do activities such as:
Matching pH values with substances Group discussion on acids in daily life Quick quizzes during class
This keeps students engaged.
6. Exam Technique Focus
I highlight:
✔ Common exam mistakes ✔ Key keywords for marks ✔ Structured answering method (what examiners want)
7. Summary & Reinforcement
At the end:
Quick recap of key points Short quiz or 5-minute test Homework with mixed difficulty questions
