I did my graduation in English Honors from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. I am currently doing a master's in Mass Communication from AJK MCRC. I believe that being trained in a combination of language plus communication has helped me in articulating myself in better ways than before as well as understanding others' needs in the best manner.
Even though I had Commerce in high school, I chose to do my graduation in English Honours. This is because I realized that I connected more with subjects pertaining to human sciences more than the ones in commerce. I also took sociology as my minor subject in college.
For me, language is not just a means of communication, but a way to understand the art, history, and politics of a landscape. A good command over language can be someone's biggest superpower. The process of making a language a regular part of one's life can look different for everyone. Hence, my only approach during the class will be to let the student decide their pace and be of support wherever they need.
When it comes to social science, my only approach will be to explain the concepts in the easiest way possible as well as explain the significance that it holds in our lives. Many of us believe that a subject like social science doesn't hold any value in our current life. However, coming from a humanities background myself, I beg to differ. In my belief, it tells you about the society you currently live in and also see yourself living in the future. No matter where you choose to live, every region has a story to tell. To understand society gives way to understanding oneself.
If you are a primary/middle school student who struggles with social sciences, I can make it easy for you! I hope listening to a story won't be as boring as learning dates from a textbook.
