I am a Biology teacher with hands-on classroom experience teaching SS1 to SS3 students equivalent to Grades 10 through 12, O Level, and IGCSE internationally. I currently teach at a secondary school in Nigeria where I prepare students for high-stakes examinations including WAEC and NECO, which follow the same biological curriculum framework as IGCSE O Level.
Biology has a reputation for being heavy on memorisation and I actively work against that. My approach is built around understanding first. When a student truly gets a concept, exam questions stop being scary.
I break down complex processes like cell division, genetic inheritance, and enzyme action using real-life comparisons, clear diagrams, and step-by-step logical explanations. I work across all core Biology topics including Cell Biology, Genetics and Heredity, Ecology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, and Classification.
Whether a student is struggling with the basics or pushing for top grades, I adjust my teaching style to match where they are and what they need. Some students need slower, more visual explanations. Some need past paper practice and exam technique. I figure that out quickly and teach accordingly.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Federal University Otuoke, Nigeria, and I am comfortable teaching in English at an academic level. My sessions are structured, focused, and paced around the student not a fixed script.

    I teach Biology across SS1 to SS3 at City Comprehensive College covering the full secondary school biology curriculum from foundational concepts all the way through to final examination preparation. Internationally this spans Grade 10 through Grade 12, equivalent to the IGCSE and O Level standard.
    My lessons cover Cell Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, and everything in between. I do not teach by making students memorise I teach by making them understand. If a student cannot explain a concept in their own words, they have not learned it yet. I use diagrams, real-life comparisons, past examination questions, and step-by-step breakdowns to make sure concepts actually stick before we move on.
    Teaching across three year groups means I am constantly adjusting my approach. SS1 students need strong foundational grounding, SS2 students need to start connecting concepts across topics, and SS3 students need exam technique as much as content knowledge. I figure out where each student is quickly and teach to that not to a fixed script.
