My background is in theatre, so I approach makeup as storytelling. Every look has intention, character, and impact. I’ve worked across performance spaces where makeup is about transforming into something new. In this course, you won’t just learn technique. You’ll learn how to design!

We’ll cover:

Strong foundational technique (blending, structure, precision)
Skin prep, hygiene, and professional habits
Product knowledge (what actually works and why)
Theatrical makeup for stage and performance
How lighting and costume change the final look
Character creation (building a full identity through makeup)
Designing looks from prompts with clear meaning and intention

My sessions are high-energy, creative, and hands-on. You’ll experiment, take risks, and push your ideas further while building real technical skill. I bring experience from both performance and production environments, which means I can guide you not just as a makeup artist, but as a creative collaborator, helping you turn ideas into strong, expressive final looks.

Students should have their own basic makeup kit, including:
Skin/base makeup (foundation and/or concealer)
Setting powder
Eyeliner pencil or stick (black or dark tone)
Glue stick (for brows / texture work)
A colorful eyeshadow palette and/or face paints
Basic brushes/sponges for application and blending
Makeup remover (micellar water or wipes or wash)

No need for expensive products. Just tools you’re comfortable using and ready to experiment with!
