In this assignment, optimization study of tension strip with opposite semicircular edge notches is
performed. Four control variables, width, notch radius, thickness and length are considered and
their effect on stress concentration factor is studied through full factorial design of experiments.
Total 16 cases are considered as there are 4 control factors. Firstly, python script is generated
from created ABAQUS model of the tension strip. Then, python script is imported in MATLAB and
made control factors are made editable. Once control factors are editable, total 16 python scripts
generated one by one. And python script is run through ABAQUS to get desired stress plot.
