I have served as Head of History Department in five Cambridge Advanced Level independent/international schools, all with students from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds and located in three countries. I have mostly taught History but I can also offer English as a Second Language at GCSE/IGCSE. The common denominator among these schools I have worked in was their insistence on international best practice on the part of staff where ICT integration formed an integral! In addition to my regular full-time work, I am thrilled to say that I tutor over ten students online: based in Botswana, Great Britain, Germany, Hongkong, Hungary, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa and Thailand!

On pedagogy, I fully embrace the student-centred approach in which the “student’s voice” remains at the centre of the entire learning process. As an educator, my key role will be to act as an informed facilitator among the learners who chooses what the students will learn, how they will learn and necessary assessment procedures. I ensure that my students are thoroughly empowered, active, dynamic and responsible participants in the set learning activities. I equally acknowledge and celebrate individual differences among learners and this enables me to accommodate each student’s unique interests, abilities and learning styles. Whilst I help accelerate the gifted learners, I frequently provide scaffolding to the less gifted students in order to motivate them to tackle their portion of work. It is my passion to see all my students achieve their best potential.

I always include my students in setting up class standards and collective discipline as a way of ensuring they take ownership and accountability in all class activities and duties. I always maintain steady communication links with all relevant stakeholders and that serves to enhance academic performance, discipline and social integration.

More importantly, I am results-oriented and I have produced some of the most enviable Cambridge results in the recent years: namely,
->one A-Level “Top in the World” award, CIE, November 2018
->one AS "High Achievement" award, CIE November 2018
->one A-Level “High Achievement” award, CIE November 2019
->two AS "High Achievement" awards, CIE November 2019
->one IGCSE "Top in the Country" award, CIE November 2019
->3 High Achievement awards at AS/A2 in 2020
-> 3 High Achievement awards at AS/A2 in 2021
-> 1 Top in the Country at IGCSE, 2021

It is therefore my delight and passion to see all my current and future students achieve their best potential. Together we can do it!
