As a teacher I feel students should be able to retain the knowledge and it happens only when they are enjoying the subject so I make sure all of my students take interest in the subjects they are studying. I make text book knowledge relatable for them in their day to day life,for that I teach them by giving daily life examples, telling them short stories etc so that they can remember it easily.
I'm quite friendly with the students so they need not be shy and can ask their doubts to me as many times as they like. I can teach in the language they are comfortable with if it's English,hindi or marathi. I take weekly tests so I can know how much my student has understood whatever I taught him and work on the areas he/she is weak in. I feel repetition is really important when you want to master a subject so revisions and revision tests play a really important part in my teaching method.
I've been taking home tuitions since quite a few years now and all of my students went from D's to straight A's.
