I like to understand things starting from the basics, as much as possible. This is even for advanced topics.
I invite questions until the student/questioner is satisfied or till we identify incompleteness in my understanding of a particular issue.
I like seeing a topic/question, as much as possible, in a context i.e. what gets us to consider an issue/question and what next.
I like to, as much as possible, have an intuitive interpretation/picture of ideas/calculations involved in a topic or question.
I am open to learning new ideas/topics so as to take a discussion to a logical conclusion.
I prefer face to face/live interaction for better communication, but also do the preparatory work as the situation may demand.
I am open to interaction on any topic in theoretical physics, particularly conceptual/fundamental topics.
I believe that students asking questions is perhaps the most important aspect of teaching. This is especially true if new questions arise due to explanations provided by the teacher. Students having new questions is a test of clarity on the part of teacher.
I prefer discussing how the student can figure out a question rather than doing it myself for the student. Of course, I am open to doing it myself if necessary.
Finally, I expect that my interaction with the students is good enough for their success in their examinations etc. and do not intend to help in the process of taking examinations.
