Native English speaker from Ireland with 3 years’ experience teaching English as a second language. I have worked with a range of different levels and ages from nursery to adult. My education background is in Art and Design, which informs my teaching practice and continues to inspire me during my free time.

Obtaining a TEFL Certificate, as well as an online teaching certificate has enabled me to travel the world and gain invaluable experience teaching English.

I am familiar with and a huge fan of the Montessori method, as well as having worked with the child centred and research informed IEYC curriculum (UK). With teenagers and adults, a lot of my experience has been gained through the student centred, direct method, however, I like to use an eclectic approach which varies according to student’s needs.

At the minute I am assisting students online with speaking section 2, part 2 of the IELTS exam and would be more than happy to help others with this. My teaching and writing experience have kept me well versed in both American and British English. Reading, listening, speaking and pronunciation are other areas that I can offer support with.

More than anything, I love being able to help students express themselves well through English. Patience, practice and play are key for me.

    Researching, writing and proofreading articles (220-240 words), in a creative/ narrative style. Topics include but are not limited to health, travel, education, food, pop culture, tech and students personal anecdotes.
  • Nursery Teacher (Oct, 2019–Feb, 2020) at Joyelect Daycare, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China
    Development of curriculum, monthly and weekly lesson plans according to the Canadian ELECT learning framework. Collaborating with team members to create promotional events for the school (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Delivering daily lessons for children ages 1-3 years old, monitoring student’s development and contributing to the learning environment in the classroom.

    Preparation and delivery of Design lectures through English.
