I am passionate about teaching young professionals who are unable to progress fast due to lack of self confidence when using the global language of English. I have been teaching for many years and missed my teaching during the years I administered Bishop's College as Principal. Students leave schools such as Bishop's College confident and fluent in English. I am aware however, that many people all over the world do not have the same advantage.

My main goal is to help young professionals for a reasonable fee, to cover any costs of materials I will provide them with. I am always committed to any project I begin and will overcome any challenges. I follow a tried and tested methodology which has always being to make the student comfortable and able to question repeatedly.

I believe the result shown by the students at The British School in Colombo and at Bishop's College who were taught by me is proof of my capabilities.

Each student is an individual who needs lesson planning tailored to suit him/her. While this is not possible in a classroom of 25 students, I believe I can make a difference if I teach young adults individually in order to make them self confident, eloquent when speaking and creative when writing.

Experience

  • Principal (May, 2011–May, 2021) at Bishops College, Colombo
    I was invited back to Bishop's College to serve as Principal ( Head of School). I had to administer all areas of the school and ensure that the curriculum progress was taught smoothly. Many new areas were introduced to the school by me: London A/L Arts Subjects, A PSHE Program, New Sports and Clubs and Societies.

    Initially Employed as a Teacher Trainer. The dates given above are when I joined the Faculty as an English Teacher. I taught Form 1 to IB. I also taught, IGCSE and London A/L's.

Fee details

    රු1,500–2,000/hour (US$5.06–6.74/hour)

    Fee will include preliminary getting to know the student as well tests to determine level of English free.
