Full-time BIM Architect since I finished my master's thesis.
During my student years, I made a promise to myself: "I'm not going to waste any time producing useless drawings". After plenty handmade drawings I decided to invest time in learning a tool that brought me the possibility of making multiple drawings at the same time. This tool was Revit.
Revit wasn't just the key as a student, it got a job position in an Australian international studio at the same time I was submitting my master thesis.
As an architect, I have worked on every architectural stage that implies design, with Revit: from the initial schematic diagrams to the latest construction documents. All the projects I took part in are located in Sydney, which is quite interesting as you are not expecting rigid geometry design from there.
Having this background in my early years as an architect made me realise how important is to automate our daily tasks. We tend to think that automation leads us to a less creative design. It couldn't be further from the truth.
Learning how to get your documents ready in less time gives you extra time to improve your project and focus on what's relevant. Do not waste more time tidying up plans... Learn how a computer can do it for you!
