My method of teaching is practical, experimental and occasionally humorous, which I believe leads to a collaborative learning process that benefits everyone involved. I make my students must feel that they matter, that their opinions and ideas are valuable and that they are safe to express them. Along with keeping track of student participation, I evaluate their content understanding using traditional examinations. I also request feedback from students about my method of teaching, presentation of materials and the assignments they complete. I regularly stress my commitment to continual improvement and encourage students to give me feedback during office hours. Through these methods, I hope to outshine their expectations as an instructor.
Teaching is a high priority for me, my aim to pursue teaching as a career is in part due to my desire to make a positive impression on the life of students. Teaching is a highly-rewarding profession and I cannot think of a better way to contribute to my community.
