Ms. Navo is passionate and open minded teacher with experience for more than five years under Tanzania national curriculum (NECTA)and for 3 years to date I have been working on international curriculum school (International Baccalaureate) where I have been working as one to one assistant teacher to a student with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD).
As one to one support teacher I have been in class with my student, preparing the after school learning activities, pull outs when needed and home learning. The knowledge on educational psychology have been of good help and gave me greater achievement in my day to day working activities. For the three years and 8 months with my student I have been witnessing him improving his mindset from the "I can't do this" to "I can do it." Getting better grades and being able to work independently and improved on his social skills outside the class.
I have been working as counsellor to my students as well as part time counselor majoring in education, parenting and relationship. Lending an ear to those who are in need has always been my great happiness as I believe for someone to reach his or her full potential must be physically, mentally and emotionally well, hence mental health matters.
Community based research is one of the area I have been practiced fully for one year as I worked as research assistant on the promotion of
early learning through the use of innovative technologies in Mkinga district Tanzania, under UNESCO.
As an open minded person team working, ready to learn new skills and copying with all kind of people regardless of their culture and individual differences, differentiates me from others.
My life outside the classroom is always at it's best with travelling, watching movies, singing, cooking and having some me time.
