English is my passion, I often find myself actively geeking out during lessons. These nerdy rants have prompted many of my students to ask if I do anything else with my life except read books. Unknown to them, I am a keen gym-goer and baker. I love discussing and engaging with all forms of subject matter from novels and poems saturated in emotion and history, modern modes of communication such as emails, websites and yes even tweets. Now more than ever, many might find the prospect of navigating the peaks and troughs of Education abroad daunting. It is! Even so, I see it as a unique opportunity for exceptionally fresh discussions and conversations about English and its significance in this brave new world. I possess five years of
experience teaching English at key stages 3/4, extensive experience of teaching the National Curriculum for England and the IGCSE in Dubai. My KS3 and KS4 classes have a proven track record of attainment and progression through teaching and learning. My most recent year 11 class nearly all made expected, good, or exceeding progress in their GCSE grades, despite challenges faced by the pandemic and adjustments to virtual learning.
