Supported the Project Manager on our team by helping with organising roll outs of software & I was an IT liaison between New York team, European branch IT support, back office IT & the European Equity Research analysts, some traders & administrators.
    • The systems encompassed a global publishing system, a Sybase database, an Excel VBA front end, with a Java middle tier & Word VBA front ends for automation. VBA / VB were the predominant tools for Office automation, including for the publication processes from document creation up until the point of web feeds. The web systems were in Java. I developed in VB6, VBA, Access, Word COM & Excel COM.
    • Design & maintenance of customized Word automation tools for components in large reports & other tools. These were designed to integrate with the global template project & publishing system, for European users.
    • Creation of a VB container for report data for a sales product, fed to Word & automation of indexed PDFs.
    • Development of a research tool to output an indexed PDF, XML & a metadata file for a web feed.
    • Maintenance of stored procedures in Sybase to extract data for Microsoft Access. The data was used for an automated Word reporting tool maintained, within an overall Office automation project.
    • Development & maintenance of an Excel & DataStream project to provide graphical output of data.
    • Development of a Microsoft Access project to calculate statistical data, for a hedge fund client. The data was downloaded from DataStream into Access tables. SQL queries were made based on banded sets of price movements, standard deviation of data bands was calculated via SQL & Access VBA, & short & long positions of the same data was generated.

    I offer an initial 30 minute discussion for free to establish your needs and then work out a lesson plan or job specification.

    I have Teams, Zoom & Skype.

    My fee ranges depending on if you need to learn in the applications themselves or higher rates for learning how to program, or helping you with a difficult program if you are already a VBA developer.

    If you like I can give you exercises to do in between session to help save you money.
