My technique of instruction can be characterized as coaching. Instead of giving my students the answers, I ask them the right questions; with the help of demonstrations and group activities, they should be able to discover the solutions on their own. I believe that the current generation is deficient in both critical thinking and creativity. I prefer coaching over lecturing, which is the most common method of instruction at this grade level, since I am striving to assist them in acquiring these abilities. Simply put, I strive to better prepare my students for the challenges they will encounter in the job.
