In addition to my educational training, background, and experience, I am also a trained counsellor. I therefore have developed a teaching method that marries the cognitive with the affective. Teaching is not only about imparting information or getting students to pass exams. As a teacher I also focus on the psychological and emotional (i.e. the affective) aspects of learning and so my method always includes helping the student to remove the emotional blocks to learning. In this way the student not only 'crams' information but also reclaims their natural intelligence and own ability to learn. As a result, the student is able to use their intelligence and apply the learning to other situations.
