I have a big experience not only in the education sphere but also in medicine, IT, and management of sales. In the previous year, I had 3 jobs as a teacher, consultant, and coordinator at the center. I am very punctual, energetic, responsible for my work, and multifunctional. I have been working in the educational sphere for the last 5 years and I began my career as a teacher. Throughout my teaching process, I have faced lots of challenges finding appropriate methods and activities for my learners. So, I found out that TESL can help to deal with these problems in my teaching process. I want to specialize in this sphere and help my pupils to be effective learners.
I haven’t taken any special courses before about lesson planning, syllabus design, or curriculum. But when I was studying at university we were sent to schools in order to practice our accumulated knowledge. At that time we tried to put our background knowledge into practice. So, our instructor in that school taught us how to write a lesson plan. But in the beginning, we observed all classes and learned what methods and approaches are they utilizing in the classroom. Then our instructor explained that every single word and act should be included in your lesson plan. The lesson plan is guidance that we should follow it.
Last year I made up a curriculum and syllabus and lesson plan for my class. Because the curriculum that the government gave us wasn’t appropriate to pupils' needs and their level. So, I was given a chance to modify and change it if it is necessary according to the pupils’ level. I am involved mostly in lesson planning, and I think it is significant to identify our learners’ intentions, prior knowledge, which activities are the best suit to them in order to accomplish their learning successfully. At that time I look through all types of curriculum and syllabus and I had a meeting with a lot of teachers they shared their experiences with me even it was time-consuming. I had a chance to discuss what limits of those curriculum and syllabus. According to these received answers I redid a curriculum for my pupils.
Currently, I’m teaching at the educational center and class members consist of different ages of learners, but their level is the same. Learners’ ages are from 14 to 25 in the class. Additionally, there are 20 learners and 14 females, 6 males in one class. Learners’ level is a beginner and they have lessons 3 days a week. Most students are bilinguals, however, multilingual learners can be found among them. There are a lot of visual and audial learners in the terms of learning style. During my lesson, I utilize a variety number of methods, approaches, and activities like task-based approach, metacognitive approach, and others. Each lesson I try to motivate my learners in language learning, thanking to appropriate syllabus, and lesson plans that are done by me giving its result. At the end of the session, my learners could achieve their goals and improve their communicative skills. Moreover, I prefer to use modern methods in my lessons than traditional ones. During my lessons, I try to implement new, creative, interesting, and effective methods that help my learners to be good learners.
