Hi, my name is Hazel, 37 years old from the Philippines. I graduated with the bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurial Management. I have been teaching English online to Korean students for more than 16 years. I teach young and adults students. I am passionate with my profession, I love teaching and I enjoy meeting new people.
TEACHING STYLE:
I always make sure to provide a lively and fun learning environment to ensure that students do not only learn but also enjoy the class at the same time.
Showing empathy to the students, making them feel understood is really a big help to boost their confidence. They tend to have anxiety making mistakes which leads them to be less cooperative in class. If you make them feel understood, and make them feel it’s totally fine to make mistakes as long as they are open to be corrected, it motivates them to keep going.
I usually incorporate my approach to their interests. Just like for those who love to sing, I teach them some nursery rhymes to set their moods before we proceed to the lesson. For adult students, I usually ask how their day was. From that, they start talking about themselves. That’s also a very effective way for me to know them better. I also share some of my daily activities, that way we’re able to connect bond between us.
