Experience of more than 40 years.

Basic Hindustani classical music beginning with alankars .
Classic Bollywood numbers, Bhajan, Gurbani ( shabad), Gazal, Punjabi folk, thumri classical.

Music is not just a hobby its a meditation .It connects a person to his /her soul.

My name is Kulbir Channi. I am a professional singer.
My passion for music has only increased over last 40 years
I can teach bhajan, gazal, gurbani shabad, thumri classical, punjabi folk songs and also sanskrit shlokas (i can compose them in ragas ) .

Education-
I began my music lessons at the age of 4 years. Since then I never looked back .

B.A from D.A.V college, HNB Garhwal University.

Sangeet Prabhat vocal from Durga Sangeet vidyala in Allahabad prayag Sangeet samiti .

Throughout my college and school I was the best performing student of my class .

I belong to banaras gharana.

I have learnt light music along with classical music .

M.A from D.A.V college, HNB Garhwal University.

Teaching style -
I begin my class with saraswati Vandana .I prefer to make the foundation of music learning strong with focus on improving basics. I am very patient with my students. I can easily handle small children.

I usually teach using the harmonium .
I begin with alankars, ragas ( Bhairav, bharavi, yaman, Bhopali vidravani sarang, Bhimpalasi,kedar, kamra, basant, chayanat .. and many more ) and gradually teach songs .

I give written theory to my students.
I expect my students to be dedicated and regular.

Achievements-
Started performing at the age of 12, first performance at survey general office, survey of India .
Performed music programs at All India Radio, Najibabad . ( 1984 onwards)
Performed at All India Radio, New Delhi ( 1994 onwards)
Have been giving various religious programs in doordarshan, Dehradun.
Took interviews for recruitment of teachers in kendriya vidyalaya.

Honours achieved-

Was honoured by honorable Chief minister of Uttarakhand twice ( 2013, 2015)

Was honoured by Lions club international Dehradun for my contribution in the field of music.

Honoured by Himalaya and Hindustan with Bhushan award.

Honoured by citizens welfare society ( Saharanpur)

Was associated with vishva jagriti mission for 4 years .

I have taught more than 100 students individually and a lot more in groups. In my 40 years experience I have taught all kinds of students

Very calm and patient...

Have been learning singing with Ms Kulbir from last one year. I am a mature student from UK, she is very accommodative and patient teacher. I started from beginner level and really please with how much I have learned so far. I can see that my understanding of the music has increased and so has my vocal range. I started with alankar and slowly moved to Bhajan, bollywood, ghazals and thumri. She has excellent knowledge on different singing style. Right now I am learning different raagas which I am enjoying thoroughly. Overall excellent teacher with lots of patient.

She is very humble in teaching. My daughter has attended 3 lessons till now but my daughter likes learning music from her.She teaches singing in simple and easy way.

Music lesson with Kulbir

I am a mature student from UK and taking my music lessons with Kulbir on Skype for past three months.
I am learning singing Bhajans, Old Bollywood songs and Harmonica.
Kulbir is well experienced and talented teacher. I started from very beginner's level and me being a mature age, it took me a while to learn basic skills but Kulbir has shown tremendous patience and passion towards me . She has taught me things very politely and with great enthusiasm.
I am very happy with my progress and would definitely recommend Kulbir for music lessons.

She is a very good teacher, very patient and very helpful

She is a great teacher and very patient and teaches everything clearly. I am really glad that I came across her on teachron and got to learn from her and I enjoy my lessons very much. After every lesson she sends me written notes of what we have covered in the class and they are helpful to review. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn singing because she makes the lessons enjoyable and you learn a lot in each lesson.
